Media are invited to attend the Americas Conference 2009 in Miami, Florida September 29 - 30, 2009 during which Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) leaders and policy makers will gather to discuss the post economic crisis scenario in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Special guests include Bill Clinton, former US President and currently serving as United Nations Special Envoy for Haiti; Oscar Arias, President of Costa Rica; Hubert Alexander Ingraham, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas; Pamela Cox, World Bank Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean; David Landsberg, President and Publisher, Miami Herald Media Company; José Miguel Insulza, Secretary General, Organization of American States (OAS); Daniel Scioli, Governor, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina; José Antonio García Belaúnde, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peru, Dr. Mark Rosenberg, President, Florida International University will participate as well as several other high-profile guests.
The Conference, hosted by The Miami Herald, Florida International University (FIU), the State of Florida and the World Bank, provides a unique platform of integration between political leaders, government officials, business leaders and regional –international organizations.
